A lot of people on this board assume that just because we are on a board filled with educated gamers with experience and discriminating tastes (READ: Jaded) we are all good at videogames. I ask you, are you the reader on this message board any good at videogames?
I'd say I'm maybe a bit above average at everything, except for stuff like fighting games, which I simply don’t get. I don't concentrate on single games/genres at all, so I'm not really good at any one particular thing.
I catch on quick with games though; I just don’t follow through to “master” them.

Its all in the eye of the beholder. I still haven't voted yet because I am still thinking about it.
Mode 7 - If I were you I would DEFINITELY put yes. I have seen some of your feats and they make mere mortals like me whimper.
I'm not the best at any game. But I can do what I want to, control characters in the manner I please, and learn games quickly.
I think I will put yes, if only because I am better than I think I am. I am surrounded by kids who pretty much know how to play and i always hold my own. Ahhh technical schools. A melting pot of hand eye coordination :)
When I'm in my niche, I'm excellent.
When I'm not, I'm horrible.
So I'd say I'm good at games, at least much above average.
Basically, give me a week of practice and I'll kick your ass.
hmm. . . hard to say. . . only that. . . I think that most people eventually become good at certain games, thats more of a sign of effort than ability, so I don't know.
Whenever I start up a new game, I do better than the people I know when they started. But that could just be them sucking.
Well, if they suck and you don't, at least you can count out the third option. I have seen people much better than me, but I am still much better than the non-gamer and the casual to slightly more than casual gamer. (Long weird sentence, am I right?)Quote:

Am I good? I suppose. I try to not rate myself like that, because there are always plenty better at me then every genre, but I also know that I am better at all genres then those who focus on one.
Am I better then most who I know? Yes. Does this really give me a good comparision? Not really.
I think I'm pretty good at game. RPGs..well I'll get far finish 2/3s of it and then not beat it...
The last RPG I beat was Golden Sun. That game had me glued.
Fighting games, I'm alright.
I'm a bit jaded though.
