There were 4 prints on the shotgun, however, none of them could be identified positively as Kurt Cobain's.
Latent prints, meaning, they could be his but they cannot say for sure, there isn't enough for a match.
Also, his head was not blown off.
There was an entry wound under his chin, and, depending on which police report you read, an exit wound/no exit wound on the top of his skull.
His face was entirely intact, and there was little blood or brain matter strewn about.
It was a 20 guage shotgun, less powerful than a 12 gauge but still plenty strong at point blank range, loaded with 3 shots.
His ID was not laid out so as to identify him, but when it was taken out of his wallet and compared to the corpse, the police had 0 doubt it was him.
There are quite a few things that are a lot odd.
The finger print thing can be summed up with:
0 identifiable prints on shotgun.
0 on pen used to write note
0 on cigar box of drug paraphanelia
0 on shells inside or 1 ejected from shotgun
Basically, none. The shotgun was handeled by a clerk who showed him how to load it, Kurt and his friend, and none of those left prints.
The first police officer on the scene reports that a suicide note is found, that is on day one in his report.
The note makes 0 mention of death, speaks more of retirement and is not addressed to courtney/frances, and refers to them, but not like he is adressing them.
Kurt cobain owned 5 guns, that were taken by police in March of 1994, during a 911 call.
Now, the reason why Kurt Cobain had his friend by a shotgun is a direct result of the following:
March 18th, 1994
171 Lake Washington Blvd. E.
Seattle
6:10 PM.
A 911 call is placed by Courtney Love. She tells the operator that Kurt Cobain is suicidal and has locked himself in a room with a few guns. He will not come out of this room.
The police arrive, this is the text of the report from that event.
On the listed date and time officers responded to the listed location to respond to a disturbance. I arrived and contacted Love, Courtney. Love, Courtney stated that Cobain, Kurt had locked himself in a room and was going to kill himself. She also stated that he had a gun in the room. Officers were able to contact Cobain, Kurt and detained him pending further investigation. Cobain, Kurt stated that he had locked himself in the room to keep away from Love, Courtney. He continued to state that he is not suicidal and does not want to hurt himself.
Love, Courtney informed the officers of several weapons that were in the room that Cobain, Kurt had locked himself in. Due to the volatile situation with the threat of suicide and the recovery of unknown medication, the weapons and medication were taken into custody. After further interviewing Love, Courtney, she stated that she did not see him with a gun and he did not say he was going to kill himself. However, when he locked himself in the room, would not open the door, and knowing that he had access to guns, she contacted 911 for his safety and wellbeing. All parties were interviewed and Cobain, Kurt left Love, Courtney. The disturbance was verbal only.
The police confiscate:
1 Taurus .38 Special
1 Beretta .380
1 Taurus .380 PI 58
1 Colt AR-15
25 Boxes of assorted .38, .380 and .223 ammunition
1 Bottle assorted, unindentified pills
Okay, so lets look at the facts on this. '
1) Kurt Cobain is locked in a room with 5 guns and ammunition. If the guy really wants to kill himself, there isn't a damn thing anyone can do to stop him.
Now, the police are liable for a few things, here. They can actually be sued if they are called out to a situation like this, and would have a reason to believe that a person is a danger to themselves or others. Cops aren't the side to take a chance, so if there is even the slightest risk to them, or their jobs, they will act on it.
In that situation, the police arrest the person and put them under a 5150, which is a 72-hour psychiatric watch. The person would be arrested, taken to a local mental/normal hospital and locked up for 3 days, then a doctor will determine if they are sane and or fit.
So, you can believe that if the police have any inclination that Kurt Cobain is going to kill himself, they would take him away.
Kurt's Statements in the above:
'he had locked himself in the room to keep away from Love, Courtney. He continued to state that he is not suicidal and does not want to hurt himself.'
Self explanatory.
Courtney's statements in the above:
--'Cobain, Kurt had locked himself in a room and was going to kill himself. She also stated that he had a gun in the room.'
--'she did not see him with a gun and he did not say he was going to kill himself. However, when he locked himself in the room, would not open the door, and knowing that he had access to guns, she contacted 911 for his safety and wellbeing.'
One of these people just admitted to lying. The other, is Kurt Cobain.
This is the first public record of things really going down hill for the two of them.
I think it's clear that Kurt lock's himself in a room to get away from her, and she calls the police to come and get him out. The only way she can do that, is to lie and say that he threatens suicide.
He had indicated to his friend that if he bought a gun, he knew that the same thing would happen again and the police would come and take them.
If the man wanted to commit suicide, he had ample oppertunity to do it.
What you have here is a pattern of one person who lies, and one who has no indication of lying.
When police investigate a case, they don't start with the conclusions. They take the facts, and eliminate the unlikely until they are left with a conclusion that is the most likely situation.
Walking into that house, seeing a note and instantly saying 'its a suicide note' is completely retarded.
Also, this is a direct quote, via a recording:
After Kurt Cobain died, The Rome Incident was reported as a suicide attempt. Never before that time was it mentioned as such.
What was the content of the letter that he wrote that night, allegedly a suicide letter?
Love: ?It?s like little pieces of paper and it says um, says, there?s 3?there were 3 or 4, I think there were 4??
Grant: "Why did?why would somebody tell you to get rid of that?"
Love: "Because it wasn?t really nice. It talked about, um?getting a divorce.?
A guy writes a divorce letter, puts on clothes, gets money, then OD?s on alcohol (which he doesn?t drink) and rhohypnol.
Yeah?
She burned that letter at a later date.
Sgt. Cameron, Seattle Police Dept. --
"If it hadn't been for Kurt Cobain, the case would have been closed after the medical examiners verdict. We never took the possiblitiy of homicide very seriously."
"Who Killed Kurt Cobain?"
