DOA: Ultimate Official Thread

How'd you get it then?

I just thought I'd pass along some info for everyone. Tecmo will be sponsoring a VGPub.com tournament for the game, with the grand prize being a Tecmo prize pack, which includes a DOA Ultimate wallscroll.

Got it today it Fry's and have been playing it a bit. Good to see I'm not getting totally wasted at least.

Yeah, I beat it on normal with all the characters, and I have everyone unlocked. Ein was the last character I beat it with though, so I unlocked Hitomi and Tengu at the same time.

Yea, I'm already up to 6 costumes with her.

first impression: not only is it easily one of best looking games on the system, but the load times are nonexistant. each of the 21 (huge) stages loads in under one second. incredible.

Also, to get costumes for Bayman, it's the same as Hitomi, just use Time Attack.

I got on late last night, and had some amusing times with Skeletor, JM, Jed, FuryFox, and Hiro. I've heard that the "host" switches to the challenger (or perhaps the remaining winner) after every match, which might explain why only certain matches showed lag. Yet, there was never any lag when my turn came up -- I must have a decent connection. Also, even the occasional lag that existed for certain players disappeared when the room dropped down to 4 players.

Team Ninja is freaking genius when it comes to costume design.

So true, and it's critical to maintain the fast pace of the game. I also like the fact that you NEVER lose voice comm, even when others are selecting characters and stages. Impressive.

hitomi (time attack) - easy x5 normal x4 hard x3
jann lee - easy x2 normal x4

lei fang - easy x5 normal x8 hard x6

tengu (time attack) - easy x1

I'd probably say easy x2 normal x4 like all the other males.

Weird, I added those all up, and got about 142ish for all the costumes (plus my estimate for Ein) which is weird, because IGN said they had unlocked 169 in their review.
