My god you're right! I say we should round 'em up, confiscate their belongings, and stick 'em in badly-constructed prison camps in Utah and Wyoming where we'll treat them like shit and exploit them for cheap labour. Then, when we run short on soldiers, we can draft them for military service in Iraq since they already speak Arabic.

What a novel idea. Why hasn't anyone though of it before? We can even put signs up saying "how to tell an Arab from an Hindu".

If this thread was my only exposure to America, I'd be hating the USA because Americans were really fucking stupid. Fortunately most people in my everyday life don't act like this.

Seriously. Most people I've known who hated the US thought it was a horrible place full of greedy capitalists, pollution, racist assholes, and a fascist police state. None of them wanted to live here and few of them thought that the US was superior at all. The whole "jealousy" thing doesn't really stack up.

The difference being that it isn't simply one man behind this but a whole organisation, and they have their people everywhere.

While they are nowhere near the same level as the "Tamil Tigers" of my home country(their practices are freaking scary), they are still quite willing to do anything to some extent and when you kill one, another replaces it.

Insults and completely ridiculous accusations are two different things. I've heard some Europeon people tell me some extremely crazy shit that they heard on the television.

You don't know how serious the shows they were listening to were, though. I mean, a lot of Americans believe what Pat O'Reilly, Michael Moore, Howard Stern, etc. say as fact, even though they're a bunch of opinionated nuts and say all kinds of ridiculous crap. You get that kind of stuff anywhere in the world.

It's also true that the US media is pretty dumbed-down when it comes to talking about negative issues - a lot of it is true, but we never get to hear about it (or choose to ignore it). Other countries' media can be a lot more critical, because they don't need to worry about disturbing their listeners/politicians. At the same time, you probably won't be seeing the local media in Europe ragging on their own foreign policy so much.

I avoided History lessons like the plague as they seem to teach irrelevant shit in Australia. What is this "power cell"?

I don't know if that was the term, but Hitler had these little pockets of people all over the country. I know the idea comes from Communism, where these small cells of people form and consolidate their power, secretly in alignment with, in the case of Germany before their terrorist attack, Hitler. I'm trying to find an actual source. I suck at Google. :)
