I've been to New Orleans on more than one occasion. Yes, it's one of the worst places to be. You should check out Little Rock, Arkansas. Gang land USA! I've been to LA and the N.Y. area as well.

Houston ranked as one of the highest crime cities, less than 10 years ago. The city had quite a reputation, because of it's zoning issues. You could have a church and shopping center in one area and then have a strip joint right down the street. Some of the best places to live in that area, are built outside of the city in places like the Woodlands.

My dad lives out in Clearlake and it seemed like a cool place to me.

I live on the outskirts but I wish I didn't. You've got to be a very wealthy fool to live in Sugar Land or the Woodlands or Friendswood or likewise inside of Houston in Memorial or River Oaks but still - those places are bland. The lack of any zoneing at all inside Houston makes it pretty unique. It's not like church next to chop shop or something like that. Rice Villiage or Upper Kirby or (even) Memorial are cool examples of it. Some people might not like the house next door to them being made into a Mr. Gattis but its there and I think its badass.

Besides... over 4 million people say Houston is where it's at. Dallas? Even SA is bigger than Dallas.
