X68000 Data + Gallery

I've put together a page on the internal workings of the X68000, and I think it's the single largest collection of information on the English speaking web.

Great thread. I've been interested in this system for awhile, and it's kinda nice to actually see screenshots of some of the more obscure releases for the system.

I'd love to play an actual one sometime.

I have only played the X68000 through emulation but I'm very impressed with its arcade ports.

Cool site. Do you have any info on a Shooter that Falcom
made?

It's a shame we didn't get the X68000 in the USA. The prices on the system were obscene- 518,000 yen for an XVI-HD in 1991 which is close to $4,800. Then again, having perfect arcade ports that the Amiga and the 16-bit consoles could only dream of is a bonus.

Super Street Fighter II on X68000 looks just awesome. While the Genesis vs. X68000 shots on Strider & GnG show some difference, the X68000 SSFII would totally put the Genny to "Double Extra Shame".

I've been having trouble trying to get this thing emulated, somebody wanna throw me a guide here?

Lagoon was one of my fav SNES games, awesome music, is the x68000 version superior?

Actually this was only (only!) $3762 in 1991 dollars, based on the exchange rates at the time. Still an expensive, exclusive beast. Talking to people in Japan and they say they could only dream of an X68000, and instead had to settle for the PC-alike PC9801 and similar.

the larger Cinema image, and missing openeing part.

Falcom's name doesn't seem to appear anywhere on this game, and it was published by Takeru according to the online lists I could find (Tho apparently written by Falcom). Takeru was kind of a bottom feeder, releasing gobs of budget softs, and they were particularly known for their vending machine-style floppy sales. Select game, wait a minute and a freshly written floppy would pop out. No box, no book... Dunno if this game ever had a box or not. Here's some screenshots:

FWIW in my five minutes with this game it seems to be very very good. Liquid smooth, lots of tiny graphics and explosions. Somewhat amateurish design, good music, not easy. Reminds me a lot of Sol Feace.
