BH Zero : RS is NOT worth $120 or the trouble finding it. Just keep your head up and around, let people know you want it, and sooner or later, someone that owns RS will come to the realization (BIG SHOCK that it is) that other shooters than RS exist, and that someone will want to take advantage of the hype that RS has to try to pawn it off for a good price. Pull some strings and keep the RS owner from using eBay.
It's happened before :) It will again...
?.. is the voice navigation in English? Seems it be pretty crappy to own the import if you didn't know Japanese.Quote:
A great platform style shooter called Burning Rangers. It's in the 3rd person veiw, and the import isn't that expensive.
The games that have been seeing the most action on my Saturn lately are:
(somethin'somethin') Fantastic Pinball by TechnoSoft -not to be confused with the other FantasticPinball games (I can't remember the translation of the title) a great and very colorful video Pinball game -not one of those pinball simulation deals. Soemwhat difficult, but filled with quirky and hillarious characters and bonus rooms. -great fun that you can play anytime, in quick spurts or extended sessions.
ThunderForceV -side scrolling shooter, can be found relatively inexpensive for Saturn import. Start on level three, get the FreeRange weapon and kick ass to the end.
Really, the FreeRange weapon makes this game worth owning by itself.
Scorcher an F-Zero like racing game. Very well crafted, imo. Really f**kin' good agreesive play required. This game is fast and frenetic. Steer clear if you can't handle short draw-in distance.
Vatlva R.C. vehicle battle game. Up to six players. Very different vehicles, all with unique weapons and attack characteristics. Inexpensive and hella fun.
Sega Ages Fantasy Zone if you haven't played Fantasy Zone, make this the copy to get. Your thumb will curse you for it:evil:
i just have to wonder....if the game didnt command such a high price on ebay and have this air of mysticism....would we have as many drooling rabid peeps on this board? guess well never know.
Nope. Burning Rangers = baaad import. Especially since the domestic rev isn't that expensive either.Quote:

I don't know if NiGHTS and Panzer Dragoon Zwei counts, but no one mentioned it, so...
Speaking for myself, I'd say no. Even if the game can be had for $10, I'd say it would have just as big a fanbase. Some people appreciate the quality of the game while others don't. Simple as that.Quote:

To each their own.
VIRTUAL ON!!!
Most will probably scoff, saying VOOT is a much better game...
While it is better, VOOM is very close behind, and is different enough to purchase.
Get these:
*Hyper Duel- Technosoft arcade shmup. Your ship can transform between fighter and mecha types.
*Batsugun
*Darius Gaiden
*Darius II
*Soukyugurentai
*Battle Garegga
*Elevator Action II
*Bubble Symphony
*Metal Black
*Pulirula - A Taito arcade game with weird "Mike Judge on LSD" style graphics. Possibly the most crackheaded game of all time.
*Gun Frontier
*DoDonPachi- Get this one if you want 2 players with the ability to choose different ships and are willing to put up with a few graphic faults.
*Strikers 1945- Perfect arcade conversion (I've got one at a Putt-Putt near me, and it looks exact to the pixel.)
*Strikers 1945 II- If you can not find a PS1 version.
*Metal Slug- If you cannot get a Neo-Geo CD or MVS cart version.
*KOF'95/'96/'97- Developed by Rutubo Games for SNK, KOF'95 is arcade perfect. The only thing missing is the Engrish mode (but I miss that a lot! ). '96 and '97 are not, but still quite decent.
*Guardian Force
*Blast Wind- Not the king of the Technosoft hill, but still decent.
*Sega Ages vol. 1- If you can't get Yu Suzuki GameWorks for Dreamcast.
*Power Drift- Ditto.
*Samurai Shodown 3- Good Neo-Geo port.
*Capcom Generations 1,2,4,5 -#3 isn't quite as good as the others.
*Layer Section II- If you can't get RayStorm on PS.
Avoid:
*Sky Target - A gross insult to the After Burner series.
*All Star Pro Wrestling Featuring Virtua - Sure, it's got Jeffry & Wolf... but it's sluggish.
*Super Street Fighter Collection- Lousy ports of SSFII and SSFIIT featuring lame CPU AI. The CapGen5 versions of WW/CE/HF are far better. Street Fighter Alpha 2 Gold is the only reason to get this one.
*Samurai Shodown 4- More like Samurai Slodown 4. What happened? The Neo-Geo one is good.
Are you joking?! Time Bokan?! The best shooter you've played on the Saturn? Jesus.Quote:

Also known as Time Bokan. Best shooter on Saturn that I've played, and yes I've played Radiant. Has a 70's style anime theme. I've got like 30 low quality screenshots at my site.
You need Battle Garegga. Say it with me.
Battle.
Garegga.
Battlegaregga.
Battle Garegga.
Battle Garegga
Platformers you won't have much luck with. Everyone will tell you that Keio Yugekitai is cool, and it is, but it's also much too easy to be that interesting.
