Galleon: The game is finally finished!

The game has been in the works since late 97 or early 98. I have an issue of Next generation magazine from fall 1998, and they had a 5 or 6 page story on it. It still doesn't excuse the fact that they could have upgraded the graphics or used a new engine or something.

I never expected such shallowness from TNL.

This game sounds awesome based on his description, despite what the graphics look like.

Yeah, but until we play it & enjoy the awesome gameplay, all we can do is look at how ugly it is.

For me the issue isn't the semi-primative graphics, it is the fact that the character designs just flat out suck. If the people are that outlandishly proportioned, the world should look more skewed or something. The bizzarro characters & the vanilla levels & architecture aren't working well togther.

I personally don't give a shit as long as the framerate is nice and smooth. The game looks good enough to me. Sadly, I doubt my current PC and piddly VRAM will run it.

Looking at those screenshots makes me feel as though I've had scurvy for the past 6 months. The environments look well designed, just not well defined. I hope it plays well because those models really piss me off to no end.

Like others have, I remember reading about this game a long time ago. It sounds very promising from the way you describe it. It certainly does look like ass though.

Che - for reference, I think ["thumbnail"]["/thumbnail"] (no quotes) will automatically make the images into smaller, clickable pics. Might make the images more tolerable for those heathens on dialup.

I have been looking forward to this title for a while, and graphics shouldn't be the meat of the game, they are just the sugar that helps the medicine go down. I'll definitely pick it up, but it better be priced competitively...

I actually like the character designs. Anything that isn't trying to look ultra-realistic is fine be me.
Though, those knees are downright frightening. Cripes.
The readhead looks like what Lara would have if her face were attractive. Awesome.
