I agree whole-heartedly with what you've been mentioning. The exclusion of the Marauders (which I've mentioned previously) and the Patronus were all regretably watered down, or even excluded.
It's a shame.
I also feel like the book did a MUCH better job at keeping Lupin's lycanthropy a secret (excluding his rediculously obvious name).
I was just wondering, what the Hell is Stephen Dorf doing in the film?!
He's the wizard stiring his tea and reading "A Brief History of Time" when Harry first arrives at the Leaky Cauldron.
It looked more like Guy Pearce, which would make sense since he was in "The Time Machine; or an unshaven Ian Brown, but that would just raise more questions than Stephen Dorf...Quote:

Saw the 3rd one last night. Really enjoyed it. I love the darker stuff... so it's my favourite of the 3 so far.

This movie was great. It was good to see Harry not take shit from his "aunt".
I just saw it, and I am extremely pleased with it. Wow, Cuaron did a phenominal job directing this. Just about everything in this film was leaps and bounds ahead of the last two movies. The cinematography was fantastic, I especially liked the use of iris in and out scene transitions. Even though it was used a lot through out the film, it wasn't overdone. The way they finished off the Quidditch scene with the fade to black cut was fucking fantastic. The pace of the film was nice and fast too, those two and a half hourse flew by quickly.
I loved seeing all the little details in the background, and pointing out familiar characters. Even though they were only there breifly, it was great to see percy and ginny in the background, and it was great to see fred and george get some screen time. I loved how they portrayed all the paintings as well, that was really well done, as well as the map, they did a great job with that one (even though they didn't explain the origin). Any one else notice the dragon (?) skeleton hanging from the ceiling in the defence against the dark arts room that the cornish pixies knocked down in the second film?
Of course there are a ton of little nitpicky things in it that I wish weren't there, but what can you do. It was stupid not letting Ron and Hermione inside the bar, even though in the book a ton of school kids are in there. They probably just did that because they dont want kids and alchohol mixing together or something stupid like that.
Best movie of the summer, so far.
