Best remake?

I really liked the remake of Lunar 1 but I just couldn't get into the Lunar 2 remake.

It's weird considering that for the longest time I considered Lunar 2 to be one of my all time favourite RPGs. I mean I like the fact that they changed got rid of the stupid magic upgrade and save system, but I wasn't a fan of the the new music (I know it's essentially the same music as before but for some reason it just didn't sound as good as the Sega CD version), bad looking CG cut scenes, and one change there was one change they made to the story towards the end that for some reason really bugged me.

For favourite remake (of the last couple years) I'm gonna have to go with Castlevania Chronicles

I would say it fits the bill by pretty much any accepted definition, yes...

All-Stars counts as a remake I think. Some of the games in All-Stars were more re-done than others. SMB1 and SMB2(Jp) were completely redone(and also completely ruined gameplay-wise).

why do you say that?
i haven't really played the all-stars remakes, so i don't know.

There's this annoying delay when you hit bricks that interrupts the flow of the games. It ruins them for me. The graphics are nice though.

I made it through all of SMB and SMB: The Lost Levels with no problem back when I got it on the SNES. I had no real beef with it.

And yes, they are remakes.

For some reason, the CD-based Snatchers popped into my head, and I've barely played the originals.

And I haven't played Twin Snakes, Zero Mission, or REmake, and I can't think of anything else.

So if I'm saying anything, I'm saying that.
