I used to be diehard anti-inverted until I started playing Crimson Skies. After I'd been playing that hardcore for a while I couldn't go back to default.
Normal, inverting is for fools or contortionists. Or both.
Flight games: inverted, always, for some reason when ever I'm flying a ship or plane my brain always defaults to the "pull down to climb up, push up to go down" mode for some reason.
FPS, console & PC: regular, maybe because most of the time the character is on foot so I'm not thinking in "plane mode" :)
Inverted at all times. Pull back to turn/look up, push forward to turn/look down. People who don't understand that are horrible genetic throwbacks without opposable thumbs.

Default controls are for two kinds of people: women, and those types who when mentioned in a derogatory manner here at TNL people get banned.
