Should we all be homeless preachers?
Well, they had a new program about Elizabeth Smart and Brian Mitchel, the guy who worked for the Smart family once, was a homeless preacher who had taken a lot of L.S.D. in his past and eventually abducted Elizabeth at gunpoint. He then tied her up and denied her food until she succumbed to Stockholm syndrome, a curious psychological phenomenon where the abductee sees the abductor as a protector and will do anything to please him/her.
She became a wandering vagabond wearing a veil. The thing is, the guy that taught me guitar and gave me a lot of my philosophy that I still follow (Scot Lacy) looked a lot like this guy. He was a guru of sorts and wore not robes but an old mexican blanket thing with a hole in the middle for his head and baggy rastafarian type clothes. He looked like a street preacher and had a fiery intensity in his eyes.
You've got to wonder . . . the greatest men have been slightly crazy. Should we all wander aimlessly and preach? I'm not sure about MItchel's desire to have many wives (he re-wrote the Book of Mormon) but something about the wandering minstrel/troubador/preacher intrigues me.
How 'bout it? I probably find this kind of psychological situation interesting because I normally talk to people that are rather closed minded and don't even believe that post traumatic stress disorder exists just like Patton didn't (my one critisism of him). They believe that it's all just cowardace; that the patients with it should be shot.
Anyway, I think that this case speaks volumes about cults in general. They all feel threatened (with torture in Hell) even if no physical threat or torture or sleep depravation is used. Also, while we're on teh subject, do any of you pervs find this girl hot, or will she be in a few years?

I must add that I'm not into it. Maybe in quite a few years. Oh, and I know the news is old. It's just that it's still news and I don't believe all that occured was covered in previous posts.
