This also saves missiles for the third form - I used super missiles and sonic boom exclusively on the mutated emperor.
During the Emperor's second form, I bombed ten of the eleven tentacles slots, and then kept bombing the Inglets to refill beam ammo and health - I think dyomides mentioned this earlier. I was back to full for the third form, so you can afford to go nuts with ammo during the boss' first phase, and not worry about losing health that much either. If you've got enough tanks, you'll just outlast and overpower him.
I found Meta Ridley/Metroid Prime to be much tougher than the final fights here. Following that, despite all the reports to the contrary, I thought combat in Echoes was easier than Prime overall. There was nothing like Thardus or the Omega Pirate in Echoes....actually I think the Spider and Boost Guardians killed me the most. Echoes' map navigation and puzzles were a lot more complex though.
Same here. I didn't think finding the Sky keys was difficult or lengthy. There was one in Torvus Bog that took me a little while to track down (because the Bog sucks), but the Keybearer Lore word in red gives you the name of the exact room they're in.
Too bad Super Metroid isn't unlockable. At least so far. Wonder if beating Hard with 100% might do it.
