Could it be something as obvious as cable connecting the Genesis video out to the 32x video in?

If you're using a model 1 this could be the reason.

Same thing happened to me. It's because I had the video cables plugged into the Genesis instead of the 32X. Similar/inverse things happen when the video cables are hooked to the 32X without the pass-through cable from the 32X to the Genesis.

I think that was it.

I was playing Silpheed last night and was worried I'd never be able to finish it. I was having trouble getting past stage 4. I was about to give up when something clicked and I rode that momentum through to the last few stages which all required deaths to memorize. Then I finally saw the final boss.

Is it possible to beat the final boss with the amount of special weapon ammo they give you from a continue? I think you need to 1cc this shit to have enough ammo to take it down before the FMV ends and you die from the super laser.

If anyone has evidence to the contrary, please let me know.

Tried again and actually beat it. Weapons seem to have random ammo at the start of a stage, I just don't understand. I dumped every bomb I had in the final boss's mouth and triggered the final cutscene millimeters away from death. Never again.

I used the "refill your shields" cheat and I couldn't beat that last boss...
Of course I wasn't playing strategically either...but that bitch is h a r d.

I know I beat it back when it was new, but I am almost positive I cheated to do so.
