HALO - 2-player co-op, difficulty, etc.

Okay, I just beat the new Halo demo (Xbox magazine #7 disc) in co-op mode with a friend of mine. Lemme just say that I think this game is killer, and I never expected to like it this much :) A great surprise indeed.

Now, two questions:

We had a pretty easy time with the demo, so will we (two guys who suck at FPS games) be able to complete the whole game in co-op mode ??

How easy is the 1-player mode, and does it have varying difficulty settings ??

I kinda suck at FPS games, so I want to know if I'll be able to beat this game eventually or if I'll just get frustrated with it.

There are four difficulty settings - the medium one, the one you start on, is a joke. It's really, really easy. On teamplay, I'm guessing my mom and my sister could make it through Halo on the default difficulty.

I think the game's too easy on Legendary, but, I like FPSs.

Right now I'm playing Resident Evil, but before that it was all about Halo for me. I've beaten it on every diffuculty setting in one player mode. I beat it twice on the normal setting, then the next to hardest, and finally, the hardest setting (later I tried the easiest for fun). One time while I was going through the normal setting, I tried out the hardest one, just to see what it was like. I got took down quick, and thought there was no way to finish Legendary mode. However, I tried it, and I did it (me, who hasn't played a FPS since the first Turok). The main thing is that there are checkpoints everywhere. You kill a group of baddies, and a checkpoint appears, and so on and so on. That means that no matter how hard a section is, you can keep trying it over and over till you get it right. So I say try it on normal, then work your way up. The baddies on the hardest mode don't let up, and you'll find yourself using the oddest strategies to win, but it is worth it. Also, when you beat it on the hardest mode, you'll get a little extra something with the ending. It isn't much, but its something.

i played through the whole game with my brother in Co-Op mode... it was pretty easy, mainly because if one of you dies, the other just has to run away until you respawn (we really took advantage of this)... but i went back and played through a lot of it single player... and it was much harder than in co-op... especially a few certain sequences that take MANY tries to get just right...

... and this was all on Normal mode...

... geez... i sure love Halo... and i was only able to play it over a weekend at my cousin's house... :(

In normal is pretty easy to beat, co-op or single player, but if you are up for a challenge play it in Legendary co-op and you will be playing for hours in a single stage...

Yup, I reccomed starting on Normal as the weapon placement makes the game more fun. Easy is just that and less to play with.

Co-op is awesome and yes one level on Legendary can take hours even wit a teammate. Awesome game.

How long is the game on Normal mode ??

Can 2 xboxes be linked up for co-op mode so each player can have their own screen? or is the link mode only for deathmatches, etc.?

No you can't zerodash and that alone really ticked me off :( The link cable is starting to look somewhat under supported!
