Nothing hurts a system quite like multiple light sources. Just saying. Hell, you should see the difference in performance that my system has with the Doom III beta just by turning the flashlight off and on.Quote:

That's a Quake 1 shot (Tenebrae). It doesn't really look better, but it's just so close because of nothing but the lighting.
The shots surprised me more than anything else. The game isn't ugly on a whole or anything, and I'm sure that the PC version doesn't have such simple geometry or low-res textures; those shots just made me realize how far ahead PCs are getting, I guess.
Those XBOX screens are horrible compared to the PC version. Like wow.
It's like the difference between the PS2 and PS1 versions of Tony Hawk or Madden.
Some of those shots aren't that bad considering the limitations of Xbox. Some of them look like shit, too. I'm not sure what to make of it.
Tenebrae gave me some of the worst framerates I've ever had on my system, that thing eats resources like nothing else. Doom III runs a million times better on my box then Tenebrae does.Quote:

Yeah, it doesn't even look like Doom anymore. They should have called it something else.
You guys are jumping to conclusions regarding the monsters too much. The only things that look lame are the tentacle seargents. Were also supposed to have seen only a handful of the demons and we still haven't seen the uber guys like the Cyberdemon and whanot. And don't tell me the Revenant doesn't look badass.
Nonetheless, PC all the way.
Not only does the Revenant not look badass, it looks like something out of a Disney cgi movie. I like the rest of the enemies though, and am looking forward to this game more than probably any other this year.Quote:
