Iran's so far away.
The Sudanese government is being accused of bombing its own hospitals and schools today. I wonder how many troops we sent to Sudan this morning.

Ah.
Lol at how stupid most of us were in 2004 (including myself judging from my posts back then). I was only 17-18 years old, what is everyone else's excuse (including our own government)?
We never belonged in Iraq and/or Afghanistan in the first place. Even if Saddam had been fielding supposed "WMDs", how could that possibly affect the United States? He very obviously didn't have nuclear weapons and even if he did, he had no means to deploy them towards the United States or US allies in Western Europe. As for what is going in Iraq right now, the United States needs to stay the hell out of it. Sure, we made a mess of Iraq but the best choice we made is to let them handle what ever came afterwards. Despite the mess the US left, it holds no further weight in the fact that we should clean it up. Iraq (and the region in general) had every opportunity in their history to become a culture and society that was able to defend themselves against a foreign power like the US and they chose not to. If their country and society wants to yield and submit to oppression from somebody like Saddam or an extremist group like ISIS then it's their own goddamn problem and should have nothing to do with the United States.
We had our civil war in this country and we also had our war of independence. The people that found this country felt the need to sacrifice their lives because they were pissed off about taxes and a ruler half way across the world telling them what to do. If a country like Iraq (or Syria, North Korea, Iran, Sudan, Vietnam, etc.) can't gain the strength in their society to raise up against and overthrow an oppressive power on their own then they deserve everything that they get as a result and the last thing they should expect is the United States to come and make all of their problems disappear. What ever happened to the United States military serving the interests of our own people? These countries have every chance the United States did from the very beginning in forming their own destiny and becoming something that they want without foreign intervention. If they want to oppress women, gays, christians, etc. then that is what they will get and their lives will suffer as a result of their ignorance and unwillingness to support liberty for their citizens.
The US has a responsibility to no country. We defended the countries of Western Europe from the Soviet Union because their downfall would've damaged our own society and had we not entered WWII the way that we did, all of those countries would've ended up under the oppression of the Stalinist regime after Germany fell. It's time our country starts letting the rest of the world fulfill their own destiny. Things may not quite be the same if we ended our globalist support but we have plenty of natural resources and manpower on our own to live quite comfortably in comparison to a majority of the rest of the planet without the support of any other country. The Cold War ended over 20 years ago and there is absolutely no reason for us to continue to play the role of the global "savior".
Global boot straps.
Yeah...I'm sure glad the French didn't follow gohron's ideas.
Didn't quite work out like that huh?
The fact that I supported the war in 2004 is the shame of my life. It was such a piece of shit war, dreamt up by idiots and two-bit crooks like Wolfowitz and Cheney and implemented by fools like Rumsfeld, Rice, and Dubya. The fact that those pieces of shit still are respected in DC says everything that is wrong about our political elite. Fuck, Dick has an op-ed in the WSJ (of course) with his daughter on Iraq and how Obummer has screwed up everything up in Iraq. Think about that. Dick Cheney lecturing everyone on Iraq.
ISIS or whatever is there now because of the shit we did there. The idea that we can then go in there and fix it is... I mean, come on. It's completely nonsensical.
We were all deceived about Iraq and hindsight is always 20/20.
This may be a crude observation, but from what I've seen, the muslim population is too chicken shit to fight back against extremisim and that pussification has enabled extremists to take hold. I mean, now we're talking about muslims killing muslims (shi'ite vs sunni). It's like the Bloods vs the Crips and yet no one over there does anything about it. It's like they accept getting bullied. FIGHT BACK!
