Well please forgive me for not taking all my things to the shitter with me when in a nasty ass airport bathroom, but this is just rediculous. I've seen countless bags left as people go grab something to eat or go to the bathroom, etc. and I never thought "Oh shit, that mother fucker is leaving a bomb." They really took this way to far, and the man is not the one to blame for all the commotion.Quote:

The IRA were known to use all sorts of object as their delivery systems, from cars....to suit cases. I can see a fine enacted but a prison term is pretty steep. However it is made PERFECTLY clear not to leave your luggage laying around in the airport about 100 times per hour. It's not like he didn't have good warning. I still don't agree with him being put in jail though.
The circumstances are still a little cloudy. The article said that the man was arriving from Portugal, which could (or, yet again, could not) denote that the man was away for a while, and in result, needed to pack many bags. He could have possibly been in a rush, and had forgotten one of his many bags that he was trying to wrangle.
There are about a billion and one ways to terrorize an airport, let alone the world. They keep adding new security terminals to "save" citizens, yet there are loopholes from the beginning. Example: In the Houston airport (Can't remember if it was G.B. or Hobby), they check baggage for explosive material before it's checked, out in public. This extra bottleneck creates yet another long line, aka, large mass of tightly packed people (it "essed" 6 or so times). Say someone actually did have a bomb with them. When it was being checked by the baggage people, it could be detonated right there, and have taken the lives of so many people just in that general area. Terrorists are creative people. They can think of an infinite amount of ways to kill us, and because of this, the billions being spent on security is only showing them that we're succumbing to their scare-tactics.
