This is the essence of the Moore technique: cleverly blending half-truths to deceive the viewer.

Interesting Review
I love reading the Yahoo User Reviews, thier unbiased and people usually put alot of time into writing thier reviews...
You know diffusion, I could care less the spin Moore puts on things. At the end of the day Bushs' friends and himself are still profiteering from the war. I wish for once you'd admit "The war was fought for a wrong cause" instead of being the blind stupid republican troll you always play. Take yourself back to gaming disscusion where you contribute meaningful insight. [besides in MOST nintendo threads].
I agree with this. Bush lies and uses half-truths to further his own agenda all the time.Quote:

Moore will profit more from the war than Bush will.
Yes, but he will use the money to make more movies like these.
Whether you agree with them or not I believe they are good for the country. If there are inaccuracies in the movie: then go out a make your own documentary defending your arguments:
"The President is merely the most important among a large number of public servants. He should be supported or opposed exactly to the degree which is warranted by his good conduct or bad conduct, his efficiency or inefficiency in rendering loyal, able, and disinterested service to the Nation as a whole. Therefore it is absolutely necessary that there should be full liberty to tell the truth about his acts, and this means that it is exactly necessary to blame him when he does wrong as to praise him when he does right. Any other attitude in an American citizen is both base and servile. To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public. Nothing but the truth should be spoken about him or any one else. But it is even more important to tell the truth, pleasant or unpleasant, about him than about any one else." - T Roosevelt, May 7, 1918
I agree with Moore's cause, but just because he happens to be on my side doesn't get him a free pass from me when he shows himself to be nothing but an opportunistic liar. The subjects he chooses to make documentaries on have more than enough evidence to back him up... he doesn't need to make shit up like he does.
Ive made my case, intelligently, a number of times on the forum. If you disagree with me, thats fine, but calling me a "blind stupid republican troll" is insulting and idiotic. Of course, I could also call you a blind stupid left-wing Canadian nutcase and I imagine I'd have a far better case.Quote:

As for saying we have to "stand by the President" or whatever, we of course do not and nothing is stopping those who dont. Like I said before, if you dont believe me, go attend some of those ridiculous ANSWER/CAIR/whoever anti-war rallies in any of America's largest cities.
Nobody is denying that this is the most polarizing Presidential election in modern history and that simple fact alone disproves the ridiculous idea of "anyone being against Bush = unpatriotic/evil/anti-American/etc".
Being against bush doesn't make you unpatriotic, evil or unamerican, it makes you stubborn, uninformed, or callously self-interested. Most people supporting Bush support him because they don't want to back down from the man they voted for.Quote:
