I agree there, It's a bonus not really a reason to be attracted or at least in a long intimate relationship. If an annoying bimbo liked games.. and she was less than perfectly shaped, it wouldn't save her.Quote:

as far as one to date goes, i've yet to meet one that's worth my time. they always fall into one of the 4 girl gamer stereotypes.
i have dated girls that like videogames though, that's pretty cool i guess. but an actual girl gamer, yeah, no good.

Tell me you wouldn't hit it...
let's see her face and a body shot and i'll give you an answer. from the looks of it though, i can do much better.
I know a "girl-gamer" that is possibly the coolest most attractive female I'll ever meet. None of those stereotypes that people give.
She's so pretty....

On the reverse side of things, I wouldn't disregard a guy if he wasn't into games. That's idiotic. A similar interest is a plus I suppose, but it seems like guys flip out a bit too much if a girl can play any game well.
Of course it's a plus if the girl I'm dating is into games, common interests are always a plus. It's not like she even has to be good at 'em, lord knows I'm not that great. But it's definitely not a requirement. However if the girl has a hardcore hatred for games and doesn’t even want me playing them ever then that's a huge turnoff. Hell, I've only went out with a couple of girls who hated games (who happened to be way hotter than the girls I'm usually with) most 'em can at least dig playing some Mario Kart or Pac-Man.
Pretty much how I feel - a girl can like games or be a nerd like me, and that's a plus, but there's just so much more to a person, so I can't say it's a big point.
Every girl I've had a relationship with has been into games to some degree (although my last ex was pretty much only into the Sims and RPGs). My current girlfriend is still stuck in 16-bit (things like Halo get her a mixed up), but she likes playing co-op games like Champions of Norrath and puzzle games.
As it is, she's better at the various 16-bit Mario platformers, since I have no patience for them anymore and just try to run everywhere.
That all being said, it would be very hard to be with a girl who didn't at least appreciate gaming, for both of us. Since it's my hobby, and my art and career (hopefully) all tie into gaming, it's not like I'm just going to keep cool about because my s/o isn't interested. While you're snagging a gamer girl though, make sure she's a geek too, so she'll watch sci-fi and anime, go to comic book stores, and generally feel shunned by society with you.
