Awesome new Genesis site is up

This site is really great. I'm gonna use the reviews as guidance when I start looking for new Genesis games. I've always been a bit ashamed of my lack of Genesis experience since I didn't get one till 94, and I was mainly into Sonic games. All I knew was Nintendo till Sonic rocked my world.

The Landstalker review jumpstarted some memories. I started playing through it a few years ago on emulator. Don't know where or why I stopped. And I think my memories of Landstalker blend with Dark Savior since I bought that game around that time. I was enjoying Dark Savior till I quit out of frustration (missed on one of them jumps that dropped me down a couple floors). I was playing Phantasy Star 4 as well, got stuck and never finished that either.

The Monster World IV review got me interested in that game... I must check it out.

Watch out, though. That Super Sonic animation looks to have been done (by the art style, at least) by AJ Freda of srb2.org . I don't think he's the fussy type or anything, but just watch out.

Have some better seperation of the links at the top. When you look at the page, it looks like just one big link. Put a diveder of some sort between each, put a box around each, something. I'd also drop the font size of those links a bit.

You also really should have some sort of consistancy between the color of your links. Sometimes red text is a link, sometimes it is just text. Because I clicked on red text to get to a review, I would then believe that I could click on the red text in the review to get somewhere else - but that text isn't a link. Every major grouping of links that I saw used a different color of text as links, and that can be very confusion. You should have one consistent link color, so that I always know what is a link and what isn't.

I'd also say that you also need some consistancy with the navigation elements. Sometimes you top navigation is there, sometimes it isn't. IMHO, it would be best to always have it there, and avoid using the "back" or "features" buttons - those are what browser Back buttons are for.

A few slight nitpicks:

Pulseman's was not developed by Sega. It was made by Game Freak (the same people that did Pokemon).

Snatcher didn't came out for the 3DO in Japan. You're confusing it with Policenauts, which did came out for the 3DO.

This might be a bit of a spoiler, but in the original Splatterhouse, you never do rescue Jennifer. The game has you fighting her after she turns into a hideous monster near the end of the game.

Other than that, great site!

Roxor. If I ever get this college crap straightened out I'll start pouring on the reviews and features. Glad there's somebody out there with the drive to do something like this(Cause I know I couldn't).

I've always thought to myself that you should start your own website and now you have! Other than a couple of navigation issues, you're off to a great start. Carry on!

I put top navigation in both features, so the only pages that don't have it are the master list letter pages, which I don't think really needs them.

I don't consider your comments to be nitpicks. If I make a mistake, I'd like to know about it so I can fix it. I appreciate all the comments so far in this thread. :)

Speaking of the MW4 review, Melf, even though I wasn't particularly proud of the review it's kind of annoying to have someone change bits here and there. You even changed 'colour' to 'color', I'm not American ya hoser! ;)

I proofread the review for spelling and grammar but tried not to change any ideas or thoughts. If something was changed that you don't agree with, please let me know and I'll set it right. :)

I'm surprised Landstalker didn't make the "Ten Best Genesis Games with Bad Box Art" list. Good choices overall though.

Also, for Trouble Shooter's Japanese name you put in Beat Mania when it should have been Battle Mania. ;)
