Gist of story- Reverend in Iowan church wants a good old fashioned book burning. Fire department tells him it's against town regulations. Shredder is right out too. They're going to toss the books (and other immoral items) into trash cans and light candles to symbolically "burn" them.

There's so much wrong here on so many levels I don't even know where to start hating these people.

Strike 1- burning books. These people need to be gently massaged uspide the head with a tire iron for wanting to do just this alone.

Strike 2- nixing the shredder. It may not be properly biblical but damn is it cool! I'm picturing something like an industrial wood-chipper here, which might tempt me to toss in some old magazines or something if someone did something like that around here.

Strike 3- symbolically "burning" them with candles lit around the trashcans? To paraphrase South Park, that's gayer than the pile! It's just this side of New Age Pagan, which is a movement that I'm thrilled has almost died off. It's the worst kind of wussiness.

It's just best to ignore these people but sometimes they cross the line. This was one of those times.

Well as you know I suffer from severe depression. My parents and a pastor thought there may be bad spirits residing in certain objects. Disciple 2: Children of the darkness had a creepy look to it and I was told to by my parents to throw it out and the pastor agreed citing its name as if it were something evil.

Anyway my mom always had a thing against scary looking movies and pictures, so this game expecially the box was high on the list of "must get rid of scary looking items".

It was a great game too. :(

Where they burn books they eventually burn people. Happened in the middle ages, happened in Nazi Germany...ignorant motherfuckers in the church attempt to strike again. I'm sick of it. I say round up all the pious religious shitheads and send em to Africa, all at once. Let them deal with the AIDs crisis, see it first hand, and see if their prayers will do anything about it. Not that it would work though. The bullshit alone would sink the continent.

Um, I didn't have to burn it just throw it in the bin. Still, it wasn't that bad, good intentions at heart and all. Still sucked. I don't think things like videogames are dedicated to the gods of death or something of that nature.

I could have said no but giving my family peace of mind was probably more important.

Let's see if I get this straight- Their "good intentions" made you throw away a great game that you not only enjoyed but still remember fondly. I'm sorry but good intentions just doesn't cut it here.

And yeah, I can pretty much back up the whole games not dedicated to the god of death thing. :)
