OMG how dare you say Isuka sucks??? LOL, I played it for the first time this weekend and they made the freaking dust, 2 buttons (like good old X)...f'ing with the controls confused the hell out of me...but it was nice that FRC timing was based on reload and not XX...

PS2 or Xbox version will let you map the buttons (so dust = 1 button), so I think it will be fun, esp with 4 people...nothing like comboing off of potemkin's super into another super LOL...

it isn't as bad as some say, though I can see how it is so poor compared to the mighty #reload.

BTW, the rest of the games are fine, fine games...you don't have to like them, but to say they suck is way to harsh, when there is so much crap out there compared to these unique games...

I suck even with a real stick, but yeah, the Pelican is looser and sometimes feels a bit spread out (it's harder for me to go into flying knee drops for some wierd reason).

You need to return the stick to neutral after a parry attempt to get a large frame window.

My best stick is still this cheapo Dreamcast one I paid $10 for. I tried parrying fireballs in CvS 2(Accidentally picked P-groove) and every damn time I jumped instead. I had to sit there with both hands on the stick and force a fucking parry. Not to mention it's hard to belt out supers on S-groove with a stick that doesn't want to cooperate.

I won't get into any detail about SF3: 3s because my Dudley is currently very sucky and due to lack of funds I'm sticking with my Dreamcast bootleg edition, so all of my practice is non-parry related. However the guide is awesome stuff and I'd recommend it to everyone, beginners and veterans alike.

I dunno maybe I just hate sticks in general, but you can't get street cred if you don't play fighting games with them. I mentioned at #vfnet that I play Virtua Fighter Evo with a pad and they perma-banned me.*

Microsoft has been shown to be more acceptable of 2D games, problem is nobody really makes any for them in the first place..but if they did I can bet MS would okay the ports(And with online play to boot).

I think the problem is that a lot of sticks are either too tight or people are just using too much force. American style sticks with medium springs force you to beast on controllers...what you need for parrying is precision. Get yourself a Jap style stick and you barely have to move the thing to parry, etc... I know a lot of my friends who only use American sticks can't use Japanese ones cause they overdo the motions...I tell them to relax and just do the motions carefully and quickly...but they don't get it....no American stick can match the precision of a good Japanese one...

BTW, people who care what type of controls you use can suck it...Guilty Gear players don't give a crap, pad or stick, it doesn't matter...but for most of the Capcom stuff, it is often run on cabinets, so it's good to know how to use a stick...but do what you like, as long as you win, that is all that matters...

EB gets the game in today, from what I've heard. I'm going to pick it up for practice until the Xbox rev comes out.

E'gad man! There is no drilling needed at all. Just get a Happs Competition Stick and competition buttons. I put up a fricking GUIDE on how to do it here (search for Pelican Real Arcade in the title only). It is easy stuff and if you have a soldering iron and some solder you do not need any thing (well pliers help).

Simple as can be.
