I've been having some fun opening the corrupted pictures on the site with notepad and finding the hidden messages. The first one I found was "into the form of a hideous manticore"????

I've read the books, and have no recollection of the bee/spider references.

Possible book spoilers:
The last book has Cortana duplicating herself many many times in order to multi-task to get a job done. The problem with that was, everytime she copied herself, it would result in a not-so-perfect copy - kind of a diluted version. If I remember right, I think when they escape at the end - you're not really sure if the Cortana that leaves with them is the original Cortana or one of the many flawed copies.
This site-hack may be a possible representation of the flawed Cortana's lunacy in action, Scissors61-style. But what's with all the bees and spiders???

Anyway, I suppose we'll all know more tomorrow.
