My computer can't run Duke Nukem 3D full speed.
I have no hope.
I'm above all the minimum specs besides CPU (I got my current PC 4/01), which is 1.2 GHz. I'm afraid I won't be able to run it, since I heard the sound is almost entirely processed through your CPU.
Upgrading is not an option right now either, so I might have to wait for the Xbox release by default.
LOL! That sucks.Quote:

If anyone is interested, the latest issue of PC Gamer has a tech section with one of the lead programmers of the game, and he answers numerous questions, including recommended specs for low level, mid level, and high level systems to run the game. When I come back from work I'll post them.
From what I read, the sound isn't really a resource hog. They said using a dedicated sound card wouldn't have made a big enough difference, so it's CPU based. I'm sure there's an option to toggle the 6.1 surround on and off, so I'm sure that'll help anyway.Quote:

I gotta say I'm pretty psyched for this.
My 9800xt 128 RAM should be here Wednesday and my new Athlon XP 2600 333 should be here by the end of the week (which I might try to overclock up to a 2.4 equivilant). I'd like to order another 512 chip (only one right now) but I'm low on money and am probably going to need a new power supply because of the video card.
This is going to rock. Plus I'll be able to run FarCry decently, which is double awesome. For starters, I don't think the game will even let you select High Detail mode unless your video card has 512 RAM on it, you'll need at least 2 GB RAM, and heaven only knows what your processor should be.Quote:
