What are Your Thoughts on Noobs?

We are all Vets but we were Noobs at one time. I dunno I think that intentions are usually good but trying to plug a site or acting like an ass is just opening Pandora's Box.
I kinda feel bad that Angel From Above from GN got crap, but her comment about I won't take shit is just asking for trouble. I think it's better instead of introducing yourself is to make some valid threads that don't focus on themselves and respect will be earned. So are Noobs just asking for it or are we too harsh, I hate to see us scaring away potential valuable members. My personal tastes go against hazing, but at TNL it's a like a right of passage.
With that said if I didn't get the joke as a Noob I would probally be pissed.

I think that there are plenty of members who have done the no introduction thing and were never really hazed.

It's just that making a "hi I'm new" thread is inviting people to tell you how dumb you are. N00bs that don't make those threads, and don't try to jump to the top of the food chain (read: Glitch), I have no problem with.

I believe that was my first thread. No introductions allow people to come in here without making a big fuss, but just because they post a hi I'm new thread shouldn't be asking for flames.

Whatever though, if they stay and add to the forums, more power to em.

I was only a noob when the GG boards went up but so was everyone else. I think there was a lot of "hi I'm such & such" threads and they never got the hate they do here. I've honestly never been to another board where noobs get harassed as much as they do here but that's just become a part of TNL.

But the "him I’m new" threads do get annoying. Everyone should just start posting and let it go from there. You don't need to announce that you're new, there's the join date & post count under your av so we'll all be able to figure it out.
