Do you already have a PS2? If you don't have any console from this gen, the PS2 should be your first choice, as it gets all the multiplatform titles (which happen to be almost all the top Xbox titles) and has a much better library of exclusives - unless you're modding the Xbox.
And if you really have to ask for input like this, it just means you can't justify the purchase to yourself at the present time, so you're probably better off waiting.
Well, it'd really, really help if you gave us a list of those games you wanna get, or at least a list of genres you like. Or if online gaming interests you. Or if you own any of the other systems.
Ultimately, the Xbox has the best version of most multiplatfor games, some really good exclusives (KOTOR, Jade Empire, Ninja Gaiden, PGR2, Rallysport Challenge 2, Outrun 2, JSRF, PDO, Otogi off the top of my head), has a lot of PC-centric games and ports (really good if your PC is stuck in the stone age) and has the best (and most) online enabled games. And it can be modded, if you're into that sort of thing.
If those things don't interest you, or if you knew all about what I said and you're still asking that question, then it sounds like you don't actually want one.
A modded or Japanese PS2.....yeah, I'll agree (it's all about that Bemani and those shmups). As PS2 that only plays US games......the Xbox is right on par. And Xbox games look 3X better, so there's your tie-breaker. :DQuote:

Come on... modded or unmodded, the PS2 still makes either the Xbox or GC look pathetic when it comes to game library. Most of the worthwhile Japanese PS2 games come out over here anymore anyhow.Quote:

You probably bought 3 of the worst games you can get for your starting games.
Metal Gear Solid 2 is an absolutely horrible port. JSRF is an awful, awful, awful sequel that doesnt deserve to wipe the ass of the original, and Tony Hawk 2X... well that was a good game... like 4 years ago.
A better bet wouldve been to take the $15 you spent on all those and buying Freedom Fighters or Deathrow or Panzer Dragoon Orta.
But, in any case, its good to see one more Xbox owner. w00t!
