So you're with me then! Triggerbowl I: NRA vs. US Army will be so awesome.Quote:
You'd be suprised what a lot of civilians have, we could probably equally arm the civilian populace when compared to the military (in exception of vehicles and high-tech weapons like anti-air missiles). If somebody ever invaded the US they'd be facing the most vicious and heavily armed guerilla faction in the history of the planet, may not happen anytime soon but it may happen someday.
Okay...so...in the IronPlant Manifesto, nobody has a proper specialized form of employment, because that would be...systematic and unmalleable...and social mobility is ensured by...guns...because..uh...if they have guns they can...um, shoot soldiers, which allows them to move above what they are now by....Quote:

You're right. I'm not a real man. I think you should go and attack your nearest US Marine base right now to show the world exactly how big a pussy I am. Or, join the NRA and vie for a starting spot in Triggerbowl I. You can be like the Ewoks and defeat their high tech war machinery with logs. And manly, manly guns.Quote:
=/ that's a pretty sad perspective to have about the issue. That is like "eh let them ban guns, it isn’t like I can do anything if they let me keep them, being a big pussy and all" You are basically giving up something because you think you are to week to do anything with it in the first place.
I'm not the one who thinks I need weaponry because my country will inevitably elect Hitler.Quote:
Why do you guys think so poorly of your fellow man?
Yeah yeah yeah...Quote:

well, look at iraq today to see how well a well armed populice can make life very difficult for a numericaly and technologically superior force. I dont like guns myself, in fact, i hate them, but i also dont see the right of the government to treat a person like an unstable killer when the person has commited no crime, and that is the crux of the matter, the tacit implication that he vast majority of people who legally purchase firearms do not use them for crime. Furthemore, if you want to make things safer, handguns are used in far more acts of violence than any definition of assault rifles, so why ban assault rifles when handguns are proportionally more likely to be used in a criminal fashion.Quote:

OH NOES TEH GOVEMENT KNOWS WHERE TEH GUNS ARE! THEY MAY TAKE THEN AWAY AND DEN RAPES OUR WOMENS!
FECKING PARANOID PUSSIES
Id say the majority have them for hunting, actually. And lets face it, some people collect guns, with no intent to ever shoot them. Just like some people on TNL collect videogames with no intent to ever play them. Its a reasonable hobby.Quote:

And some people just like to shoot guns for recreation. Havent you seen American Beauty? Its quite a thrill, shooting a gun.
EDIT:3 points(ok smartass, i added a point in mid post :p ),Quote:

2. thats a dismissive way of discussing the concerns of gun owners, it detracts from your credibility in the debate when you rely on steriotypes(and worse, caps and leetspeak) to parody a group rather than seriously dealing with their concerns. In that manner i could point out that australia does brainwash its young well to justify its actions. next you will be telling me that all internet news needs to comply with australian libel laws.
3. read the example and tell me its valid, a vast majority of gun owners do not use them to kill humans, do the vast majority of thsoe who posess pot use it as a decoration? and do the vast majority of countries that refine weapons grade plutonium not use it for collection purposes? answer me please how the analogy was valid.
meh, smash a brick with your fist/head/foot and you will be disenchanted with shooting guns, no artistry, no refinement, just boring mechanical utility.Quote:

heres a game, find the post that says assault rifles are essential to surivial and win a cookie. not legitimate to deny to law abiding adults/=essential to survival
One of my best friends just bought a long range, pistol gripped rifle about a month ago. When I asked as to why he did it, considering he doesn't collect guns (yet at least), and he doesnt hunt and he just simply responded that he enjoys shooting it.Quote:

...because he knew it would never pass. Considering just how weak it was overall, I'm glad they let it expire. If you're going to pass a assault weapons ban, pass one that actually bans assault weapons and not the extras.Quote:
