New Darkstalkers?

Great news for 2D fighting fans, can't wait to play this sucker.

Then I thought about it for a second...didn't Capcom announce that they gave the boot to 2D fighters? That pretty much kills any chance of the brand new, hand-drawn, high-res, high-color sprites everyone's been bitching for. Even if they go back on their decision on 2D, there's no way they'll use anything other than the same sprites they've been using for years. If we're lucky, maybe they'll thrown in one new character for good measure.

What's more likely is that Capcom will force the Darkstalkers series, kicking and screaming, in the realm of the 3D fighter, which will more than likely be teh suck. A trademark of the DS sereis is the personality and all the little touches contained in the animation frames...polys just ain't as expressive yet.

Then again, Project Justice kinda worked well on that level...I dunno. I can't really comment until I know the format and hardware and see some screens. I'm happy the DS series is FINALLY getting some attention from Capcom again, so I'll try to be positive. Anyway, it's about fucking time.

You're right, it'll be in 3D, Capcom has said that Capcom Fighting Jam is their last 2d fighter.

Hopefully it'll be alot like Project Justice... at least Capcom can make a decent 3d fighter when they put their mind to it.

If not, we get another Plasma Sword... :yuck:

DarkStalkers EX 3? I would hope not, but it looks so considering what Capcom said about CFJ (I'd like to eat these words). Pimping it out to SNK Playmore or especially Arc System Works would be better than using polygons.

What I'm really wanting is one with redrawn sprites, 640x480 resolution, and GGX animation.

If Morrigan's sprite is updated, this game will be worthless. Every character should have a new, high res, gorgeous sprite except Morrigan.

Finally! Definately my favorite fighting series in terms of character design and overall just fun
