I haven't got to the combat part of it yet, but yea, Gamespy was right when they said it had minor technical difficulties.

I've NEVER EVER seen a Video option without advanced features, EVER. I mean, I get real bad screen tearing when I move, and there's no way to turn on Vertical Sync? Unexcusable.

Other that, yea, it really does feel like Deus Ex so far. Graphics are ok... not quite Half Life 2 quality, but still leaps and bounds above other games (thanks to Source).

I'll have to write more as I finish the tutorial, but right now I give it a solid 8/10, which would be alot more if Troika cleaned up the game just a little bit better.

Can't you just turn V-Sync on in your videocards control panel?? I leave it on by default for both DX and Open GL for all games. I can't stand tearing so I just leave it on.

As for the game itself. So far it seems nice and its very Deus Ex like but I only just started. If there's one thing I could say is that its a memory hog. When I quit the game windows takes its sweet time to get back in order before i can do anything else. (I have 1 gig of pc 3200 ram which should be plenty)

Weird, I have 1 gig of PC 2700 ram and the game exits back to the desktop extremely fast.

And I would turn on V-Sync in my control panel, but this is the only game that noticably does it, and I'd rather not take the hit on every single game when only one game needs it.

The game exits to the desktop quickly as well for me but sometimes windows is a bit slow for a few seconds. Eh... my value ram can only go so far I suppose.

Another game that needs V-Sync is Doom 3. My lord that game had horrid tearing with V-Sync off.

Oh yea, I do have V-Sync for Doom 3. Game almost made my eyes bleed without out.

But other that, nothing else really needs... it's just odd this is the first game I've seen in a long time on the PC that dosen't have proper graphical options in it. And restarting the game just to change resolution is lame =/

I didn't even read the manual, the game basacially tells you everything which is ace.

Post number two: This game is fucking awesome. If you can get through the minor technical difficulties of it, you'll be totally immersed into the game world. I just spent about 3 hours playing it, and the time just flew by like nobody's business.

Hell, I think an hour of that was spent exploring all the nooks and crannies of the Medical Clinic, and I've barely scratched the surface of the city. Everything is NOT what it always appears to be, and anything can happen, which is awesome because you never know what someone might say / do.

For the official scores... IGN gives it an 84% (which I think it deserves), Gamespot gives it a 77%. Gamespot had the same problem every else did, but decided to rate the game LOWER than anyone else. Numeric scores are such bullshit, because the whole articles praises the game (and even compres it to Fallout) and then they give it a 77% =/

im sure he meant stopping in the middle of the loading animation to shoot something thats clawing at you. which is what ive hated in games lately. lets SLOWLY load 6-8 shells into the shotgun while you get chewed up instead of

a. popping in one shell and blowing the fuckers head off

or

b. stopping the reloading animation to use what youve loading into the gun to that point to blow the fuckers head off.

This game is cool as hell so far.

Play virtually any FPS with a shotgun in it. Nearly all of them can be fired in the middle of the reloading animation, including the recent Halo 2. Awkwardly worded yes, but true nonetheless.
