aww jeez. Another DiffX rant. With the Castlevania fans on the board, though it won't be pretty!

2 sentences isn't a rant.
And yeah, SOTN is still a blast to play through.
Not even close. Castlevania 3 and Dracula X both stomp all over SOTN. Not to say SOTN is a bad game... but Diff is right, it's insanely overrated. People act like it's the second coming or something, when it's only a Gothic Super Metroid clone (and no, it's nowhere near as good as Super Metroid either).Quote:

Even though the drops add more to the game, the repetition kills me. Besides that, I cant see why anyone would hate on SOTN - gameplay, presentation, audio, graphics, replay value, its all there. And while it is Metroid-ish - I think the series had to evovle that way to improve upon an already good genre.
Castlevania 3? As in the NES Castlevania 3? Castlevania SOTN has better music, graphics AND gameplay. All the different swords, shields, special moves plus Alucard can turn into a bat, wolf or mist. Plus, why does everybody harp on the "Metroid Style"? You don't like exploring in games or something? AND, if you discover a secret you get to explore the upside-down castle which is almost like a whole new game. Not to mention, if you miss the whip that much you can play the game as Richter. I have never played Dracula X so I can't compare SOTN to that one.Quote:

I dont care about Castlevania on the whole... SOTN just isnt a very good game. I liked it when it first came out, but last year I put it in my PS2 and was like, okay this is kinda lame. Id give SOTN a 7/10 (a C grade) at best.Quote:
So you don't think this game is the best Castlevania in the series?
IBTN.Quote:

Because he obviously said that you hate all popular games.Quote:

That's funny, because over the summer I put it in my PS2 and was like, wow this is still fun, and I played through the entire game (and I hardly ever replay old games).Quote:
