HL2 on Xbox?

That's only true of multiplayer. HL was a more than worthy single player game on its own.

HL2 is not really a graphical wonder in the company of other newer PC games. If Xbox can handle Deus Ex 2 and Doom 3 I don't see why not HL2

i don't doubt that the xbox can handle a decent port.. i'm more concerned with the lack of information about said port. i think valve wants us to forget they mentioned it.

I have a gut feeling that it'll be a XB2 launch title, but I'll take either one. I want to play it, but I'm not going to buy a new PC any time soon. :P

You don't have nuts if you don't like pc gaming. :p

HL2 will look dated with the suppossed power of the upcoming systems, so I'd prefer they just do it on Xbox (if at all) and concentrate on a true next gen product for Xenon.

Anyway, as Geen and others have said, it's pretty safe to assume that if it sees a console release, it'll probably be on the XB2.

And personally, I think HL2 looks way the fuck better than any current PC game, including Doom 3 and Far Cry, and outside of Elderscrolls 4 and possibly S.T.A.L.K.E.R./F.E.A.R. (O.M.G.W.T.F.), I don't see any other upcoming PC or console game that even comes close. Obviously, that doesn't mean it will take a beast to run (as has certainly been proven with CS:S and the HL2 stress test, and I'm in no way trying to make the arguement that HL2 is more technically demanding than many current/future high end games, because in all likelyhood, it isn't.), but to water the game down considerably, and take away much of what makes it such a big deal, really seems to defeat the purpose of wanting a port in the first place. Even if I didn't have a PC that could run circles around it, I doubt I would want such a stripped away version.

I wonder how long it'll take for someone to crack HL2 and Steam and upload it to IRC. That's when I'll play it.
