The only thing the turn button truely removes is Crossups, which, while a huge point of real level play, aren't that important in casual play. The biggest problem fighting games have, and have always had, is that alot of people don't really understand how to play them, therefore so much of the game is lost. Its really a shame. I mean, on even this board, decries against VF4 were heard left and right. That was really depressing. The only hope is that learner games like smash bros and DOA may make people begin to sorta understand how fighting games work, and then move on to real ones. SF was so simple that it allowed anyone to play, but that just wouldn't fly nowadays. It still taught people fighting game basics just by playing, people play things like guilty gear for 2 years, and still don't understand the basics. How did japan end up so good? heh. If Isuka had a whole bunch of really balanced teams, with most characters being decently balanced, then it would be a revolutionary game. Sadly, we still have to wait. Last note, instead of a turn around button, you coudl have a block button, but I will fucking pass on that for a 2d game (looking at mortal kombat)Quote:
