I did jump the gun a couple times and get the "cheater! you pressed too early" message.
We are testing reflexes, not psychic abilities.

I'm off to play more Mars Matrix!
Hmm, I am getting 0.12 again today. I am using a trackball with the left button situated vertically under my thumb, and my monitor's refresh rate is 68.6kHz. I wonder how those things factor in. I do know that two other people, one of whom is a hardcore gamer, have tried this test on this PC and that they didn't average better than a 0.18 or so.
This test may only be good for comparing different people on the same hardware. Unless the program subtracts the physiological reflex time of the typical human being, a score of 0.00 seems fairly impossible without a flaw. I can get a 0.00 if I cheat, but what kind of loser would cheat to get a zero?
I may not lead the most exciting of lives, but I've better things to do than cheat.
Just tried it on a faster computer, and got in the 0.10-0.20 range, so obviously hardware is making a difference. I was hitting the exact same digits far too often as well, which makes me wonder...
