Do you really think that the Republicans are against big goverment? I mean, sure, that is the idea. But how often do the practice it?

Well to answer your question, the people who support the party are not for it. Who knows what the true desires are of those who are in charge of the party? That goes for either political group.Quote:

What scares me about the current republican government is the contradictions that exsist.
1. "Drunken Sailor" spending combined with massive tax cuts
retortic is that we're starving the government down to size yet all action points to enlarging the government with ever larger agencies and expensive wars without a way to pay for the damn things. Oh then we're promising an RX drug plan when we're already in the red and have no return in sight to fiscal solvency.
2. Government non-interfearance policy, states rights as ajustification for thing when we're rapidly expanding the federal government and consolidating local agencies into federal ones (port authorities answering to the DHLS and all that anti terrorism) and then, turning around again not funding it. Or No Child Left behind stripping local areas of control of the school's lesson planning then not funding said requirements
I really have no idea what the hell they're trying to do here. Massive federal controls imposed without the money behind it = WTF? I figure if you're going to push for small government and tax cuts, FINE that make sense, less government = less money needed is perfectly logical.
If you want government social programs, taxes will have to be raised, that makes sense too.
But the last 4 years fiscally, regardless of what i think of other events = wtf?
I don't know what the deal is either. The republican party isn't being very republican in acheiving it's goals.
You're confusing "morals" with "ethics"Quote:
