Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault
I didn't find any threads on this game and as being I just purchased it I decided to make one. I heard a lot about the game and thought it was just going to be another Medal of Honor clone set in an alternate theater, man was I wrong. The game is a whole new thing and is very intense, the AI is based on morale and has many different tactics to use and this makes the game very difficult in parts. So far I've only put a few hours in but this game is loads of fun but very difficult.
Hearing a Japanese soldier scream in the middle of a firefight and looking over just in time to see him bayonet you is both an awesome and horrible feeling all at the same time. The squad-mates give you the idea that they are actual people with their chatter and tactics related to you and the enemy soldiers. The enemy also presents a realistic view of an opposing force and overall there is a semi-realistic feel of being in an actual war, the game is confusing, tense and exciting. Some segments are a little over-powered (such as the Pearl Harbor section where you defend a boat with an anti-aircraft gun) but believable at the same time.
I'll post more impressions on the game as I get a little farther, definately have to finish this one as the only one I saw was the DVD edition for $60 (which comes with loads of historical material) and bought it up.
