What are you guys talking about when you say a 'cap'?
Do you mean you can only get so much exp per level up... like say I get 5000 xp from a baddy and that makes me level to level 7 but the cap is 4000xp so then I lose 1000xp?

No, before you get citizen ship (So basically still hanging in the newb area) You can't get past level 6, but the XP builds up so when you do get citizen ship you'll get the levels you would have gotten.
Oh ok. So I hear this game becomes a group only game around level 10. That is a BIG turn off for me. Is this true or not? FFXI was great but I HATED finding a group. It was so boring and not fun. I like soloing sometimes when I only have an hour to kill in-game and don't have time to find a group (a good one too) and go kill stuff.
I'm almost past level 10 and I can still solo, and occasionally I need to find a group to kill a big baddie, which isn't a problem because usually a couple other people need to do the same thing. I think, like in other MMORPG's, it depends largely on the class you pick. I'm a priest right now, and I've got a defense buff, and can weaken enemies, before I hit them, so it tilts the odds in my favor.Quote:

It also caps off around 11 I think, where you get your first "subclass", and then again at around level 20.Quote:

Gotta love the buffs, when someone in your group gives you a buff, and you leave the group, the buff wears off. No longer will we have to deal with SWG level strongmen where it takes a small army to kill them.
And all my characters are deleted.
Apparently due to servers/zones going down some characters are not showing up and you may get a message saying "you are not registered for Everquest II"
No big deal
Yeah I got kicked too :p
I am still getting use to using a keyboard and mouse, I'm so used to using a gamepad
That is why I asked first, you we're only level 1 at that time when I asked... well let me know when you do make a character on Guk so I can add you to the list :)Quote:

There are one to four stages of making a product, first stage being crude, second stage being ... something else, third being a good product while fourth is a pristine product. I think the quality of the components you work with may determine how far you can take a product you're working on but I am not sure. To make things though you have to either run around making things at each thing like I need to make a leather hilt at the sewing machine, make the tin blade in the forge, and maybe create the hilt or so, then go to wherever I can combine them probably at the forge still, and do so.
I can actually imagine a guild getting a person in each area specialized and just having like a manufacturing line or something.
To get a lot of the basic materials though, you have to go out and forage or gather them yourselves, like a lot of things require roots which you can only get by gathering from... well.. roots.
Like the bazaa from Everquest, people set up a merchant listing in their home and sell crap, which is a cool idea. Then you go to a broker and find a list of everything that's being sold in the area based on what you desire.
My only real problem I've been having is... I don't have room for all the tradeskill items I need, I have each inventory slot filled with a bag, but it's still not enough.
From what I've read, the person needs to be there at all times though to sell the stuff, they can't just leave the house and have someone come in and buy it when they aren't there.Quote:

And I think the fact there's no huge auction or anything really makes people work for the items they get.
Haven't had much time to play, as I've been busy tweaking the new PC, but I should get back on soon.
Yes, that is true that you have to be there. People have been talking and suggesting that perhaps you be able to hire someone to sell in your place or something, but I think it's better this way. It keeps the market from being monopolized as easily by someone who's there all the time.
And you only have to be online, you can set it up and leave, but once you log out it then isn't active.
This actually sounds like a good idea. Maybe it will keep the /shouts for "+5 str earrings, +4 int ring 5Kpp" to a minimum. Maybe not.Quote:
