Christmas Wish List

I want some clothes, too. I forgot to add that one. And Stone, I point out to my mom or girlfriend or whoever is getting me clothes what I want (although my girlfriend better knows what looks good on me than I do sometimes, so I trust her judgement).

I agree with the "wearing clothes that look nicer". I've always liked short-sleeve button down shirts, although I've moved from the more shiny polyester types that I wore about 3-4 years ago to nicer cotton button down shirts. I'm far from rich, so one of my favorite brands is Dockers. I like their 100% cotton stainlifter shirts. I also like how they look untucked. Murano brand is also nice (once again only cotton), as they're lighter than Dockers, but they also wrinkle easier. Jeans, I get from Old Navy and Gap, although I've been eyeing the Producer Pants from Express Men. They're quite pricey in comparison, though.

As far as short-sleeved button down shirts go, that's pretty casual looking. Ben Sherman has some ok short sleeved shirts. I think that you're better off getting long-sleeved shirts and rolling the sleeves up below the elbow. Brooks Brothers sells good oxford shirts made in the US, 3 for $150.

As far as jeans go, I think you're better off buying one pair of raw denim (not washed jeans) and literally wearing them every single day. Raw denim is denim that is going to be very stiff and very dark when you first buy it. Hang them out so they don't smell, and then every couple of weeks, wash them with water and no soap. They will fade and look good, and fit well. You are much better off dropping $120 on a single pair of Levi's Vintage 501s (made in the US) than you are buying four pairs of $30 jeans.

J Crew has good looking sweaters now for fairly low prices.

The stuff I wear is a lot of Ralph Lauren. I get khakis at www.billskhakis.com because those are the best, and they're made in the US. I think Brooks Brothers has good oxfords that are a good deal, but I don't like the quality of the rest of their stuff. www.paulstuart sells good jackets, outerwear, shoes, and corduroys, but the sweaters are kind of beat. I don't wear dress shirts that often because I don't need them, but if I did I'd probably buy them from Paul Stuart or Hilditch and Key. Adidas Originals has some good casual stuff, and a good website at www.adidas.com. Etro (italian), Paul Smith (british), and CP Company/Stone Island (they're italian, and they make outerwear - the stuff Dave Chapelle wears on the Chapelle Show) are pretty good foreign companies.

Visvim (which has been hot as fuck for years and people are just starting to recognize) is a Japanese shoe company which is great. Alden is an American company that makes extremely high quality shoes at just very high prices.

meh, that is retarded. It is one thing, if you have a nice white dress shirt, and you wear it out, with the top few buttons undone and the collar up. That way you are going for the super casual look, like "hey I’ve been working at a desk all day, and now I want to cut loose" look, but polos, ehh no, sorry.

The very job of a polo is to be comfy and be semi dressy. wearing the collar up on one of those, defeats the point of buying a polo. If you didn't want to look nice, why didn't you put on a t-shirt?

However I don't own many polos. The majority of them I find gay and stupid. They are very cooky cutter, and the only people who wear them around here are stupid red-neck jerk offs, who wear the same orange one every other day with a nasty backwards baseball cap, and some cargo khaki's. They do so while driving their 1997 mustang around Sonic a few 100 times a night.

Flux = Rad can back me up on this. There is this "thing" about people who look like that, doing that, in the south.

It may be shallow but that is my biggest reason for not owning many. I have never met anyone like that who had any dept of character and wasn't good for much more than sleep.

But I do have a few. They are really interesting ones. I have one with blacks and blues and grays in it, with lots of different oriental symbols on it. I also have one that has WW2 era aircraft on it. That may sound ugly, but I think it was done very well. They took great care to blend the colors just right

No pleats ever. Except for suits. Pleats are bad because girls hate them.

Pleats are the folds on the front of some pants that help them hang correctly if you have a gut. You know how some pants have a flat front (like jeans), and some pants don't?
