This boggles the mind, this game was made for a US audience, it takes place in Cali for cripes sake. In the end I only imagine Sega felt giving Acclaim exclusive US rights to it would be a better deal than releasing it on DC. That was a nice last 6 months SOA, all online or sports content, story driven titles were shipped to other consoles.

And for Half-Life it's not a matter that you can buy it on PC, Sierra fucked that deal up horribly. Months of ads, a game that was 95-99% complete, a damn strategy guide that still sits in my Wal-mart. And to top it off we pay for it as a tax write-off. Grr.

It seems that Sega has a bad habit of fucking their customers in their collective asses. Anyone remembers those assinine ads for Pazer Dragoon Saga that mocked those who couldn't get their copies? How about releasing only the first chapter of the three-part Shining Force III saga? Sega are lucky that they're still in business at all.

Sega claimed that it would not be in good taste to release Propeller Arena, because of the events during September 11th. Might as well cancel all flight combat games.


Geist Force looked amazing, and would have been a great 3-d shooter for the Dreamcast. What happened?


Sierra cancelling Half-life on the Dreamcast. First person shooters sold fairly well on the DC, with online gamers. I'm sure the publishers of the official Dreamcast Half-Life strategy guide were a little pissed as well.

The supposed SotN follow-up for PS2 turning out to be another GBA title. That's still great, but...what a let-down.

A gent on the IGN DC boards way back in December claimed to have been employed as a Seganet tech. He claims Sega was happy to can Propeller Arena because they couldn't nail the online play, it was incredibly choppy. Something to think about, of course he could have been lying too... *-neo

here we go...

x-men (32x) - man, i really wanted this game to come out. as you can tell, i'm a huge 32x fan. don't ask, i don't know why either.

m2 - i was so hyped for this machine. i don't even like mortal kombat 3 and i still wanted it for the m2.

commanche (snes) - there was just something about a helicopter sim for the snes that intrigued me. i was disappointed when it was cancelled.

starfox 2 (snes) - i know it was scrapped so a better one (n64 version) could be worked on, but still, i wanted it for the snes.

virtua hamster (32x) - it was a 32x game, i wanted it.

chakan (dc) - looked like a precursor to devil may cry, who wouldn't be disappointed.

Yeah, I know but they originally announced a "delay" to allow for economical healing but then quietly canceled it. By their actions, I don't think they ever intended for it to be released at all. The way they went about it was rather pussy-ish if you ask me.

After C64, I cursed the entire development of that game and was damned happy when Konami finally canned it. Also, it was called Resurrection, FYI.
