Specifically I'd like to see numbers on Viewtiful Joe 2 and Baten Kaitos, but it'd be interesting to see the numbers on lots of the fringe holiday games. I wonder how much the crazy numbers of Halo 2 and GTA are eating into other games

Thanks for the list .. it reconfirms my notion that Halo 2 / MSG / GTA:SA / HL2 have sucked up most of the gaming dollars out there. There are alot of underperformers.
While 2004 will be remembered as one of the greatest years in terms of number of quality game releases, it will also be a horrid financial period for many of those games' developers because their game didn't have Halo or GTA in their name.Quote:

I dunno, VJ1 bombed pretty hard when it released a few months ago, don't see why 2 would do much better.Quote:

This should have been the year of the $30 price point for new release non-AAA titles if anyone in the game industry had half a brain for competition.
But on the bright side, after Xmas sales and price drops are gonna be off the chain.
Already started.Quote:

Only a taste of what's to come.
And HAW HAW at those sales for VJ 2.
I was pretty upset with Nintendo for releasing the NES classics individually at such a high price, but I'm astounded on how well they're selling. Nintendo really understood that there was a market for people wanting to relive the classics and exploited the hell out of it. Nintendo might have bungled the Gamecube badly, but they hit a homerun with this raping strategy.Quote:

That number for Xevious is pretty great, only 2k.
Alot more than I expected it on getting.

It's kind of disheartening they did so well.
I can't comprehend why anyone would by Metroid on GBA when they could get Metroid Zero Mission for the same price (which even includes the original).Quote:
