Naw, Dave wasn't like that. He'd work like a dog non-stop to fill as many pages as he could get the printer to extend him the credit to pay for. The problem was that he wouldn't let anyone else do anything until he was good and ready to dole out the assignments like moses coming down the mountain. So we'd get jack shit done for two weeks of the month then kill ourselves trying to cram all the work into the next two. We seriously nearly killed people working like that. I remember staying up for 5 days straight to make a deadline then catching a cold on the last day and my brain feeling like a piece of rock.

That's just how I roll.

It'd be like a weird little dream come true to help out the potential spiritual successor to GF in any way. Consider an email sent, even if I will be sending it tomorrow. Right now I need to stop playing WoW and get my ass in bed.

This isn't just a great thread for TNL, this is a great thread for anywhere at all. This is way too much fun to read, and I hope more ex-GFers wander on by. ECM, I'm over the $20 for GameGo now! :)

Oh who am I kidding, I never cared about that $20 to begin with. I was only disappointed that what looked to be the spiritual successor to GameFan couldn't get off the ground.

djpubba, e-mail is being sent. I've got other responsibilities I barely manage as it is (sorry, Bahn!), but this sounds too cool not to at least try to stick a foot in the door.

Yeah, it was me that called you Eric. Basically, we were looking through the issue before we sent it off and Jay saw it. They don't call him "The Hatchet" for nothing. I personally had no problem with you doing your AnimeFan. If you recall, I called you again because I was told to work with you on redesigning it. I don't know how they could get pissed about that, considering the shots of DOA Hardcore I took that you used in the mag, Waka...I seem to remember a particularly tasty (and totally purposeful) shot I grabbed of Kasumi delivering her powerbomb move on Ayane...you know, the one where she lingers in that special place for just a little longer than maybe is appropriate? As I recall, it got used in both the layout AND the TOC...hahaha...

Yeah same here. I really was like, "Ok, $20 bucks gone oh well. Fucking sucks this magazine is already dead!"

Yippie, I just won some old issues I don't already have for a dollar! Had to put up $23 for shipping though.
