Just finished Preacher Vol 1. It was fucking awesome! There is some crazy ass shit going on. I just ordered volumes 2-6. I have been missing out all this time!

I forgot which one that was, but I think you should avoid it.

Going through my closet, I only found Preacher 6-9... where the fuck are the rest? Did I lend them to someone?? I hate it when this happens.

Vol. 4.

And I thought it was pretty cool, but if you wish to skip it, it won't make a difference to the main storyline. It has origin stories about the Saint Of Killers and Arseface, and the Jody and T.C. story that Mzo mentioned, which was indeed shitty but pretty funny ("Saddam Hopper fucks your mother!!").

V for Vendetta is the first thing I think of.

Or, The Golden Age, even though it's more for the JSA fans.
I wouldn't recommend Dark Knight. It's not Miller's best.
Now, Daredevil: Born Again is something you should check out.
Maybe even Essential X-men Vol. 2. It's got the Dark Pheonix saga AND Days of Future Past. Now, those are must reads.

I'm finishing up X-Men/Alpha Flight "Asgardian Wars" today.

Still a damned good read. That's what I love about older X-Men graphic novels.

Didn't read the entire thread, but I recommend Batman: The Long Halloween if it hasn't been mentioned yet.
