XBN 023 February 2005 Issue

Yep, that's right. What was previously semi-announced in the GMR death thread has happened... early? The last issue of XBN is upon us.
...or the last one for a while, whatever that means. Can anyone at ZD explain further?
The majority of the issue is spent looking forward and showing a bunch of games from 2005 the staff is looking forward to. There's also an honest, well documented Best of 2004 article (GGX2#R wins best fighter? *sniff* You guys'll be missed...) Then, there's a Doom 3 review (10/10). About 20-30 pages on Halo 2 is mixed in amongst all the aforementioned. No Ask Itagaki. Bah.
So, I'm gonna miss this magazine. Seems to be the only one written by literate people.

XBN was cool. I don't own an xbox ,but they were one of the truly honest mags out there. The only xbox mag to admit struggling in Japan. The only Xbox mag to actually comment on slowdown on Xbox live and the only xbox mag that didn't bore me to death with Halo 2 news on every page( They did cover it well though)

I'll miss them. Now if only Nintendo power and PSM would go away....

XBN was a great magazine with an easy on the eyes layout, their articles at times got pretty shallow, but the mag really spelled quality in and out. Sad to see another good Ziff mag die. Chou was a good editor.

It'll be back when the new XBOX comes out. Nothing else is really gonna be coing out for the box, so they'll probably bring it back with the new system to hekp with the buzz.

XBN and GMR were the only modern magazines I bothered picking up. Shame.

How in the hell is Nintendo Power still around? It is by far the worst video game magazine out there.

Because Nintendo foots the bill themselves. It'll be around as long as Nintendo is in the game biz.

NP has a big subscription base.

NP is for little kids. Who the hell doesn't know that?
