Zelda 2

Now that I'm understanding it's style a little better, I like it a lot. It's as frustrating as 1 sometimes, and sometimes more so. I'm glad I found all 7 magic containers before that asshat wanted me to have all 7. So, what does "spell" do? Probably kills the next boss.

Zelda 2 rocks!!

I think the "missing key" problem might be in the game so you have to use the fairy spell to get through the door, along with maybe 2 or 3 other un-jumpable cliffs to climb. I have fond memories of Z2.

Also, if I'm not mistaken "Spell" powers you up (you need this to fight the last boss AFAIK, no spoilers.)

If you have a key in your possession and fly through a keyhole, you will use the key and unlock the door. If you do not have a key and you fly through the keyhole, the door will still be locked. Also, the master key is available as a special item in one of the later dungeons.

Zelda 2 and TOoT are the series' two best games.

Threads like this are exactly why I love TNL. I mean you are not gonna see many other sites where people are still playing through classics like this and looking for advice. Zelda 2 was funky for me, but my friend and I beat it together to save some time and money (sharing NES carts was always the thing to do when you were young and short on cash!)

Yeah, you can definately get stuck. er, at least I thought so, until word of the fairy spell/keyhole trick just reached me - wish I would have known that 15 years ago. I've definately stated over more than once because of "lost" keys.

yeah. And I'm a huge Zelda fan. And Adventures of Link is the best!

Zelda 2 is kind of how Resident Evil 4 is. It's not the game you remember. It's not bad, but not incredible either.

Except Resident Evil 4 is incredible. It's just not scary.
Well, it's a little more scary after it gets dark and everything sprouts a tentacle. A bit. I think it's just more surreal then, especially since everything looks so nice.

Yes, because I remember years ago when RE4 came out I thought it was the most amazing thing ever. But now going back and playing it I see it wasn't as good as I remember.
