The problem with Final Fight One was that instead of porting the game from the actual CPS version, Capcom decided to port the SNES version (more specifically, the Guy version) and throw back all the missing elements from the coin-op. The game's graphics are clearly based on the SNES version. Also, The added characters are nothing more than Guy and Cody using their Street Fighter Alpha sprites, which is really lame.Quote:

I'll rate Alien vs. Predator and Punisher the same in my book. The Genesis version of Punisher should've been better considering how FFCD was- I just think Sculptured Software (Capcom's contractor) got sloppy with the conversion.
Konami's Aliens doesn't really compare to AvP, but it's still good.

Explaination:
Final Fight, the arcade version, is one of the worst offenders of flat out coin-sucking I have ever played, easily equaling beat 'em up favorites the TMNT arcade games. I don't even need to offer more of an explaination for this other than that fire level halfway through, but add the fact that single player has numerous 8 on 1 situations, as well as a lot of boss cheapery. A shame too, because underneath this fact you have unbelievebly solid game mechaniqes that don't feel like the game is fucking you over (unlike the TMNT games).
Now lets look at the SNES version: hardware limitations keep you from facing more than 4 (often 2 or 3) enemies at once, and the fire level isn't even in the game. Hence more of a "fair" game, and certainly more of an enjoyable one. I never even bother playing the arcade version when I am in the mood for a Final Fight fix because it is a pain in the ass to play - I am pretty good at the SNES version, but the arcade one just frustrated me when I played it.
(also some numbers may be off, I forget details of both games, I haven't played in a while)
So you prefer the version that's missing levels, a playable character, is riddled with flicker and slowdown, and has been censored?
