Impossible Mission for 7800. It was impossible.
Impossible Mission 2. The original release of the game really was impossible, as the key to get through the last door was behind said last door. Dof.
One random game I'm going to throw out is Legacy of the Wizard for the NES. That was built like a lot of old NES games, where once you knew what you had to do the game wasn't hard (just annoying) but until then GAAAH the game was impossible to figure out what the hell you had to do.
Deadly Towers is possible once you figure out how to glitch your way past the Dragon. After that, the biggest challenge is playing long enough without comitting suicide.. which is no small feat.
I'm just waiting for someone to throw out Marble Madness, because I can utterly obliverate that game (the NES version anyway, as odd as that sounds).

Beyond the Beyond.
Enemies that level up with you + Underpowered Characters + Random Encounters EVERY FIVE STEPS + Insanely Annoying Puzzles = Unbeatable.
I almost forgot about:
Mechwarrior 2: Ghost Bear's Legacy Yeah, fly into the belly of another dropship with jumpjets. Oh, and screwing up = falling into outer space.
Super Star Wars I gave up.
Turok 2 Save points? Good level design? I spent more time lost than killing things. :(
Kingdom Hearts I could have beat it. But the game was too tough for me to be able to enjoy the nolstagia. Given away.
I actually beat Deadly Towers back in the day. I was still in my "oh my god, videogames!" faze, and it never dawned on me that the game really sucked. I will never bother playing that piece of shit again. You know what game whipped my ass back in the day? Golgo 13. I've beaten games like Battletoads, the Immortal and such where it seemed like even God himself didn't want you to finish it, but fuck Golgo 13 and its first person mazes where every goddamn wall looks the same. I even tried making my own maps, but once I got to Act 6 or 7, don't remember which, I gave up.

Someone 'round here (damned if I remember who or in what thread) claimed to have beaten Batman & Robin...without gamegenie
Anyone ever beat Gauntlet?
I miss it. I have no willpower though, so if after 4 hours I still haven't got it, to the internet I go. Makes games so much shorter and less rewarding.Quote:

Back in the day, I actually loved and beat the first Golgo 13 game. Damn that indeed was a hard game. And it's one of those games that you hate to play again, because at the time it was awesome, but now the way it looks and plays is just sort of sad.
