The thing to keep in mind about the DS vs PSP debate is that the DS isn't the competition to the PSP. The DS is a sideshow, and Nintendo has been saying this since it was unveiled. Things like "this isn't the new Gameboy" and "third pillar" basically mean that this is an experiment. Personally, I think it's a fascinating one, although I wish it was more productive with the titles, but it's not the GBA successor. Saying the PSP crushes the DS is like saying the Patriots could crush the Yankees.
