I just started watching this show, and I gotta say it's damn impressive. I especially like how all the kung fu looks real. Also all of the humor so far has made me laugh. This show is excellent.

Yeah the whole animation style of the bending is what really attracts me to it.

I realize he's not evil per se (at least not as much as our brash, young, must-kill-for-honor overreacting numbskull with a Mario Bros. fireball scar on his eye, anyway) but if he was the main villian it would probably make for a more entertaining show. He's been the only one to make me laugh. He should also kill the good guys comic relief, that bastard is annoying as hell.

I have to disagree. I find the writing to be very quick, witty and fresh. It adjusts to the show nicely. For Example the arguments between the two siblings feel very real and personal ,but also feels very juvenile. Like it is a fight they have at home. The action in this show is extremely impressive and rivals samurai Jack, samurai champloo and a lot of other shows.

The problem are the filler episodes. Some of them were good , becuase they connected to the main story in some ways while others just feel flat,boring and completely unnecessary. The only "filler" episode that can stand alone by quality of story without connecting to the main story is Jet.

The characters are much less stereotipical than Teen Titans. TT characters are all based off high school cliches( I hope that is how you spell it. The avatar characters have much more depth.

Last I find the Uncle character to be funny, but a lot of the credibility of the show will be lost if he was the main character.( Think about it. Aang may have a problem fighting the current bad guy. However making me believe that old guy can even scrtach Aang is a litle out of reach.) His best were he is now. That is playing off of zuko( I think that is his name)and his obessive attitude.

Does anyone know if after the season is over, a DVD will be made of all the episodes? Do you think that it is a possibility?

yep, that's the one.
there never really was an "end" as such. there was a conclusion
to the first season, but they never got a chance, (maybe never planned?)
to finish out the complete story. its out on DVD w/ french audio
and no subs. there is a fan made DVD though w/ the english audio.
they say they've restored it and what not. (maybe used the
official DVDs and fitted the english over it? who knows...
thinking about getting them though.)
