So, the movie's on Netflix Streaming...and I'm watching it. It's...
Alright, it's exactly what you get when you try to compress 61 episode series into a 2 hour movie. None of the characters have any chance to develop, and they all come off flat, never mind that it's fairly poorly acted. There's no emotional weight behind anything. Everything has to presented as a summary.
The effects, for the most part, are pretty poor I think. That's surprising. There was obviously a huge budget for this movie. The costumes and the big fire nation ships and machines are all well done, but the actual bending effects are lame and seem disconnected from the kung fu for the most part. The sets, backgrounds and paintings are all beautiful. The only really awkward one is right in the beginning when they're on the ice.
It's like watching a cliff notes version of the series. I don't HATE it, but it's just not worthwihle when you have the cartoon at hand.
So, it's about exactly what I expected.
Dude, the movie only covers book one.
So this new cartoon is going to be GREAT, I know it.

There's a whole lot of Firebending in that trailer. :( But so excited! God I almost want to go and watch the entire series again. Maybe skip book one since I've seen it in it's entirety like 6 times on Nick.
