Yeah, it's literally character development.
I guess I'm naive and was happy to see a strong friendship portrayed. It was satisfying to see the show go this past season with what was not any overt romantic crap with the main character; I still can't find any explicit examples of them interacting with one another that suggested romance over friendship. Oh well. It was still a really solid finale, even if I don't like the direction they went with Korra and Asami.
I think they way their relationship went kind of squares with how a lot of gay ladies tend to go, talking to 'em.
They certainly didn't beat us over the head with it. I think it was handled with class. I like how the end of the series showed a lot of hope. Korra was so fucked up after season 3, I was happy to see her finally overcome and not become a monster from PTSD.
haven't watched this season, but not really surprised that the lesbian thing was subtle. I mean, it is still a kids cartoon and this is still America.
Though it is sad that they couldn't develop a good female relationship without it turning gay. That seems oddly typical too of American nerds.
Didn't the two main female characters from Adventure time end up as having dated?
Is this going to be a new trope? Another thing for online feminist to complain about?
I don't know, maybe watch the show and come back to speculate.
It was a very satisfying finale in that area, for sure. I think they handled it really well, showing her progression through dealing with her demons and acknowledging how it affected other people and events. They did a fair enough job humanizing Kuvira at the end, too, instead of leaving her as a big bad dictator villain with no depth at all (I mean, she only got a little, but it was something.)
It's a good show, you should. Avatar's a pretty dang good show too. They do a lot of that thing that Gundam did so well, in humanizing the bad guys a lot.
Watch season 4. its the best of the bunch. the action is good. the story is good. Kuvira is a crazy badass bitch. the only bad thing is there is a clip episode because nick cut the funding. and it was either fire people or do a clip episode. but even the clip ep is okay with a bunch of chibi characters doing the narration.
Also, Bolin lifted and held a multi ton piece of earth so everyone could escape. i seriously think Bolin is probably the best earth bender next to toph.If he ever learned to metal bend he'd be invincible.
